It’s so easy in life to set aside things to do later. You know, not responding to emails right away or not washing the dishes as soon as you are done using them. Or my personal favorite, the clean clothes that get piled on the floor and is the communal closet everyone pulls from throughout the week.
You know you’ve done it before? I know I have. It’s so easy to say, “Oh, I’ll do it later!” but when you put the things off it really just makes more work for you to do LATER.
You know what I mean?
I have a planner full of to-do lists. This is something that I’ve been working on and have found to be really helpful.
I want to encourage you to do it now.
- Get an email from a coworker? Then respond to it right away. (Set a time that you’ll check your email a couple times a day, then you won’t be responding all day long.)
- Once you finish eating, wash the dishes right away and put them away. Same goes for when the dishwasher is done washing.
- A pile of bills come in the mail? Go through and sort them.
- Finish drying the laundry? Fold them now.
The reoccurring word is NOW!
What things are you putting off? Write a list of the things and next time, do it right away. It will save you the stress of remembering to do it later.
