Cyber Bullies & Rude People

Cyber Bullies, bullying, bullies, how to deal with bullies, rudeness, Devin Berglund, writing, lifeOne thing really bothers me.

Rude people. And bullies.

And what bothers me more than ever is when that bully acts like they are better than others.

Just recently, I saw a person get completely picked on, on Twitter.

This bully was actually a published author. That appalled me. She was being rude and talking meanly about other people and about others behind their backs. (on social media… which isn’t even really behind their backs… as they could go to her wall and see what she wrote about them.) It really made her look unprofessional. I’m still in shock over how she acted. Shame on her.

It disgusts me when people act this way. Why do they think they can tear people down? Have you ever wondered this too?

It’s really sad.

I believe everyone needs to follow some social media rules.

Rules to social media:

1. Be kind.

2. Your social media presence says a lot about you. If you are mean. People aren’t going to like you. (AND this actually ruins your brand. Like that published author from above… her brand is being ruined daily, whenever she opens her mouth.)

3. If you can’t say something nice. Don’t say it at all.

What are some of your social media rules?

  1. I think it is really common in the creative world. It amazes me how rude people can be, I think there is a lot of ” I am better than you attitude!” It is sad, why not be kind and share your knowledge. It makes you a better artist. You never know what doors will open up for you.

  2. Great post! 🙂 I agree these cyber bullies are rude and need to realize that they are not going to get very far in life if they treat people that way. 🙂 Writers are supposed to inspire other writers and when writers insult other writers, its a big turn-off and makes them appear like people who need a nice life lesson! 🙂
